You’re a beginner, and you want basic guitar lessons to start you off. But you’re confused by all the choices: which would be the best guitar learning technique?

Guitar lessons are like anything else: there are two ways of learning, and they’re not the hard way or the easy way, nor are they my way or the highway. No, they’re teach yourself, or get a teacher.

Let’s look at teachers first. They come in four guises, and some are more effective than others. The more effective, the more expensive–usually.

The cheapest and probably least effective guitar lessons you can get are from a friend. I don’t say that to be disrespectful to anyone’s playing abilities, but simply to point out that unless that friend plays by the book and is a qualified teacher, you’ll probably pick up any bad habits they have. They’re also not likely to be available to give guitar lessons on a regular basis, and may either become impatient when you don’t pick things up fast enough, or may just let things slide, allowing you to form bad habits of your own. So your basic guitar lessons will remain just that–basic. The cost is good, though–usually nothing.

You may be fortunate enough to be still at school with guitar lessons available there. If so, take them. You’ll get a qualified teacher, weekly classes, and fellow pupils to swap notes with (and maybe even get together to play with!) after your guitar lessons.

Night school is the next most effective and cheap source. It differs from school because you have to make the effort to go after a day’s work. That usually means you’ve other things going on in your life–things that may intrude. Not only that, class size will probably be large, so you’ll have less input about what you want to learn. And there’s usually only two levels–basic guitar lessons, then improvers. The cost as an hourly rate will be very reasonable, though.

A professional teacher is the most expensive option. A good one will bring out the best in you, may encourage you to take grades, but will get frustrated if you don’t practice. If you have money, time, and are prepared to put the work in, this is one of the most effective routes to take, because they’ll correct any bad habits, and your guitar lessons are one-to-one. Obviously, you can save a little if you get your basic guitar lessons at, say, night school first.

If you can’t afford a professional teacher, and you don’t have evening/school classes or a friend handy, the second guitar learning technique is to teach yourself. You’ve three possible options.

You can buy guitar tutors fairly cheaply at most guitar shops, or online. They used to come in book form, but increasingly incorporate CDs and DVDs. There’s a one-off cost, non-refundable, and you progress at your own pace.

Once you’ve got past the basic guitar lessons in these tutors, you might decide the best way to teach yourself is to play your favourite songs by ear. So you listen to them over and over, work out the chords, then play. The advantage of this technique is that it’ll give you confidence, and if you mess up, no one will know. It’s also cheap–presumably you’ve already paid for the music.

Also, there are fan sites online where you can download lyrics and sheet music to your favourite songs, thus saving you the time of doing it yourself.

Finally, there’s the online course. For the cost of a few guitar lessons with a professional teacher you can get a course aimed at your level of proficiency. There are anything from basic guitar lessons online to advanced jazz. The courses usually come with a money-back guarantee, too, which is not true of the other methods. Another advantage is that you learn whenever it’s convenient–teachers are available only at certain times of the day.

So there you have it–the seven basic guitar lessons sources: a friend, school lessons, night school, a professional teacher, a book or course, learning by ear, or an online course.

Which is best?

Depends on how serious you are, how much time you can devote to practice, and what you want to achieve.

If you’re just starting, it might be best to go for the cheapest, most basic guitar lessons you can. That way, if you don’t persevere, you haven’t lost much.

If you do persevere, and you want to get really good, you’ll eventually want to consider a professional teacher.

Wherever you want your journey to take you, I hope you get there and have fun travelling!

Jamie Jones (The Guitar Dog) has been playing since…well, let’s not go there. In that time, he’s occasionally taught, written words and music, been in bands, and collected a whole lot of theory which he shares in easy-to-understand language with anyone who’s interested.

Are you a guitar player, or a guitar player in the making? Do you simply desire the ability to play? Can you play the guitar, and if so, can you play well? Do you want to learn how to play or play better? If you have answered yes to any of these questions, you should know that anything is possible. No matter how long you have been playing or longing to play the guitar, you can pick up both acoustic and electric guitar with a little help. Have you ever thought to download guitar lessons?

If you want help in learning to play the guitar, you should download guitar lessons.

Guitar lessons can be attained in a number of ways. You can download them, read them online or simply stream them. The simplest of those options is reading guitar lessons. Readable guitar lessons are not so much lessons as they are informational tools that help you understand the basics of the guitar. They can be viewed on blogs or even just word files online or downloadable pdf files. These lessons generally teach you to read music and tablature, but some also offer tab charts that allow you to exercise sweeping and alternative picking.

Guitar lessons are also streamed online through many different Web sites. These streamed sites are usually free. But do not let that fool you, because these streamed lessons are also usually genuine. They usually offer basic lessons that help you gain a good starting point when it comes to forming master technique on the guitar.

Streamed video lessons can range from a number of lengths. Many are less than a minute while many others are several minutes long. Some are just a taste of what to expect when you purchase the full lessons while others are Web site subscription based. These subscription based sites are both free and paid, depending on where you look. While it is easier to find quality lessons that you pay for, you can still find very good lessons for free with a little effort. These subscription based sites generally allow you to choose a style of guitar you wish to focus on, and they help you become better in that area while teaching you to play.

Downloaded guitar lessons are a completely different story. You usually have to pay for these lessons, but they are usually worth it as long as you do your research. These lessons, once downloaded, are accessible forever and teach you everything there is on the guitar from the basics to the most intricate techniques. These lessons will take you from the absolute basics to completely advanced techniques, until you can no longer be taught what time and practice won’t teach you as well.

If you download guitar lessons you can potentially increase your knowledge of the guitar, as well as your skills as a guitar player in a timely manner.

If you possess the desire to learn how to play a musical instrument, the guitar is a versatile and economical choice for beginners. You can download guitar lessons from the Internet site at www.download-guitar-lessons.info today!

Whether you are a beginner guitar enthusiast or someone with a little musical know how guitar lessons are key to perfecting your craft. Busier schedules and longer working hours present difficulty in making time to meet with a private guitar teacher.

Between work, family, friends and school fitting in time for practicing a new skill has become more of a challenge. Online courses for education have become increasingly popular over the last decade for this very reason, and for an aspiring guitar player this might be the only way to squeeze in time to learn.

Free Online Guitar Lessons

The internet offers a wealth of online guitar tutorials, a great deal of which are free. Are the free online guitar lessons just as good as lessons you would pay for? That may be a matter of personal opinion but the old adage “you get what you pay for” speaks volumes about free online guitar lessons.

The average free online guitar lesson begins with the instructor teaching you how to hold a guitar. Next they explain the strings and the frets, very quickly. Then they will typically dive right in to showing you how to strum a few chords. So far so good, but most of them will not teach you a thing about musical theory, notes, chords and other concepts that you should know.

These lessons are fine if you want to learn enough guitar to memorize a few songs to play for a family gathering, but you will probably never jam along with a song on the radio at will if this is how you were taught.

These courses teach guitar like a parrot is “taught” to speak. Parrots learn to talk by mimicking human voice. Parrots do not understand what they are saying when they talk, they simply copy the sounds that they hear. This is not how you want to learn to play guitar.

Play as You Practice

Let there be no confusion, I am not saying free online guitar lessons are no good. I have come across several free guitar lessons that were very informative from well meaning musicians trying to help out their fellow man. My problem with these courses is that they start out teaching you a few basics and jump right into playing.

It is true that guitar is not a spectators sport so it is good to promote playing while learning, but they skipped some elementary steps and dove in a little too quickly for your average beginner. For someone with any prior guitar knowledge this would be no problem at all, but for an absolute beginner, this can be very confusing, frustrating and damaging to your guitar playing ability.

How Do You Learn?

So how do you find a solid free online guitar lesson that will help you achieve your guitar goals? Do your research. Watch several free online videos to get a feel for the teachers, their methods, their curriculum and your ability to follow what they are saying. We all learn differently and prefer certain teaching styles. Some people learn better visually, seeing what they are learning helps solidify the information in their brain. Others are perfectly content to read a book and let their mind fill in the blanks.

For the guitar in particular, learning visually is a requirement. Concepts that would take you less than five minutes to learn with a visual example would require a teacher to write a whole book on the subject. In this aspect, free online guitar lessons are all good in the sense that they all provide video.

Do Free Online Guitar Lessons Work?

In all honesty, my best advice is to take free courses with a grain of salt. There is a great deal of guitar instruction in most of these lessons, but they usually jump around a bit skipping over key details. This can be confusing and frustrating for the absolute beginner.

The worlds greatest musician may not be the worlds greatest teacher. I would suggest eventually finding an instructor or course that you have to pay for, and using the free lessons as practice or review of what you have learned. This is a great way to track your progress.

Try TABS Guitar

You do not necessarily have to be a whiz with music notation and theory to play the guitar. There are other methods such as TABs guitar. TABs will get you playing the guitar rather quickly, but for the beginner that would like to be considered an advanced player eventually, even a small amount of education on standard music notation and musical theory makes a world of difference. This more well rounded approach to playing guitar is better suited to playing and writing your own music.

If you learn to play guitar with an inexperienced guitar teacher who does not have a good grasp of teaching the guitar you will be fighting an uphill struggle that most novice guitar players lose. You will most likely end up feeling like you are doing something wrong when in all actuality your lessons were poorly constructed and less than user friendly.

Learning to play guitar may not be rocket science, but it is a new skill that requires lots of practice and lots of patience. You will encounter enough frustrations learning from a great teacher, do not set yourself up for added difficulty. The lack of lesson structure and choppy content could be the breaking point from you becoming a great guitar player, or quitting from sheer aggravation.

Did you know that 65% of beginning guitar students quit within 2 months? Why? Lessons or a teacher that didn’t work for them. Find the best guitar lessons that will work for you with a video guitar lessons review.

Many adults want to learn to play the guitar, and guitar lessons for adults are in great demand. However, many adult learners have trouble finding a guitar teacher, or find that conventional guitar lessons don’t suit their needs. This article looks at the options for adult guitar lessons.

There are two basic routes available – private lessons with a teacher, or teaching yourself. Let’s take a look at the pros and cons of these choices for adult learners.

Lessons With a Teacher

1. Private guitar lessons for adults

Children who are learning to play the guitar often have private lessons with a guitar teacher. This isn’t always the obvious solution for adult learners however, for a number of reasons. For one thing, adults typically respond to different teaching methods than children. Some teachers may be less experienced or comfortable with adult students, and in some locations it can be hard to find teachers of the style of music you’re interested in. Even after finding a good teacher, adult students often find it difficult to attend lessons regularly. Budget can be an issue too, especially if you’re going every week.

On the plus side, a teacher will demonstrate the correct technique, and will provide encouragement during tough times. If want private lessons, ensure that the teacher is happy to teach adult students, and request references from previous/existing students. Don’t be afraid to interview several teachers if you can – most will offer a no-obligation consultation to new students.

2. Group guitar lessons

You can also learn guitar as part of a group. Group lessons may be offered by private teachers, or by local colleges, music stores etc. These can be lots of fun, and the cost is usually lower than one-on-one private lessons too.

However, some people don’t want to learn in a group situation, and these lessons often seem to be targeted at young men; if you’re not part of that demographic, you might not feel comfortable. If group lessons appeal to you, make sure that they’re teaching the kind of music you want to play.

Teaching yourself to play guitar

1. Tutor books/DVDs

Many adults choose to teach themselves to play, especially those learning pop and rock styles (as opposed to classical guitar). Traditionally, people have taught themselves using a tutor book. Today these books often include CDs, so you can hear how the music/exercises should sound, and sometimes DVDs too, showing you the correct hand positions, posture etc.

Most guitar instruction books are written for a mature audience, so adults often feel comfortable learning guitar in this way. They’re also much cheaper than private lessons, and you can go at your own pace, with no need for travelling or fitting in with someone else’s schedule.

The downside of learning this way is that it can be difficult to figure out exactly what you should be doing from written instruction and photos alone. Your motivation may also wane, especially if the book teaches music you don’t like much.

2. Online guitar lessons

Today, many people turn to the internet for adult guitar lessons, for good reason. As well as being economical and allowing you to learn at your own pace, quality online guitar lessons usually combine written, video, audio and software content, making them more effective and fun to use than books. They’re flexible too – e.g., you can play a video over and over again. Internet lessons cover many musical styles, and can be downloaded and/or viewed online, so you can access them from anywhere. And online guitar lessons are usually created with the needs of the adult learner in mind.

You do have to select your instruction carefully though. Since anyone can put up a website and call themselves a guitar expert, the quality varies, so ensure that you choose lessons from a competent instructor.

Jamorama is a top quality, professionally produced course of online guitar lessons for adults, and is perfect for anyone wanting to learn to play rhythm or lead guitar. Find out more about the course at http://learntheguitaronline.info or check out my review of Jamorama to read more about my experience with it.

Sam Marks is a guitarist who enjoys writing about music and sharing helpful, high quality resources, and may receive compensation as a result of making these recommendations.

When I first started playing the guitar over five years ago, guitar lessons online were sprouting up all over the place. The problem was that there were very few quality online lessons that allowed for rapid advancement.

While there were many reasons for this, technology has moved quickly and lessons online now offer audios, videos, jam tracks and guitar lessons on DVD that allow for much faster advancements than the traditional sit down guitar lessons.

Where it once took the average person six months to reach an advanced level, there are now many guitar instructions that allow you to reach that same level within one to two months. In fact if you choose the correct lessons you should be playing your favorite songs within a few days.

That though is the trick, finding the best guitar lessons. When I was first looking for beginner guitar lessons over five years ago, I had purchased several lessons that were very difficult and left me frustrated. After a few days the guitar was in the closet and I figured I would never reach the level I desired.

Now don’t get me wrong, learning the guitar takes practice, but what a difference when you have the proper tools in place including lessons from instructors who have the experience and tools that allow for very fast advancement.

The first two lessons I purchased involved weeks of learning music, notes, chords, bar chords, frets and so much more without playing a single note. Once I had the right lessons, I was using what I had learned that day to play the songs that I enjoyed. In fact the correct lessons actually allowed me to play along with my favorite artist with jam tracks within a few days.

I learned very quickly that the lessons you choose will not only dictate how quickly you will be playing advanced songs with the guitar, but many times if you will even continue, or become frustrated due to the lack of tools.

There are several factors to consider when choosing the correct guitar lessons:

* What experience does the instructor have?
* Are the lessons nothing more than a PDF?
* Are there videos available?
* Are there pictures?
* Are there Audios?
* Are there Jam Tracks to record your progress and play along with your favorite artist

For myself and others who have the desire to quickly advance their level of guitar playing, the lessons you choose will dictate how quickly you will reach the level you desire.

By looking at the different online guitar lessons, the experience of the instructor and exactly what is offered through their lessons, you can quickly advance with the guitar and be playing at a level that can give you a tremendous feeling of accomplishment.

Jim Farlow started an online guitar review panel in 2003 after purchasing several ineffective online guitar lessons. The goal of his review blog is to guide those seeking professional guitar lessons towards the proper instructors and tools. This will allow for very fast advancement with the guitar and the tremendous satisfaction that comes with playing the songs you enjoy.

With today’s technology, finding good guitar lessons is quite easy and simple. Actually, thinking about it finding solutions to most of our problems is much easier today. Whenever we have something that we need a solution to, or an interesting topic that we would like more information on, we simply type our question into a search engine, and within.025 seconds you have a list of choices. Yes, the internet has some awesome benefits. Looking at the search results then presents you with yet another dilemma, where do we go from here?

Searching for guitar lessons, you would have many different websites to choose from. It then becomes a real challenge to determine which guitar lesson or guitar course you should purchase. Should we purchase the physical product or the digital product? Should we learn from an actual teacher or someone who can really play the guitar well, but maybe isn’t a great instructor. How do we make the decision?

Take A Quick Survey Of Your Learning Style

Before you go out and buy guitar lessons, briefly think about how you learn new things? Do learn better from listening to a lecture, or an audio recording? Or do you require actual hands on experience, actually doing the activity to learn. Or maybe you can visually watch something over and over and learn that way. Most of us have all of these different learning styles but one generally tends to dominate most of our learning mode. Different components to learning use a different learning style for different activities learn should be a factor in which type of guitar lesson or course you should choose.

A guitar course that offers guitar lessons using a variety of mediums for instruction, such as video, audio, pictures and text are often the best choices, especially if you are just beginning. It will make it easier for you to understand what they are teaching, and you feel like you are better able to make consistent progress on learning the guitar.

Fortunately most online computer based guitar courses are becoming more open, and actually give you access to several free guitar lessons to try before making a monetary commitment. It is strongly recommend that you try this option before buying any one single course, as it allows you to determine how well the course teaching style and material presentation will work for you. If you don’t like having to be in front of a computer to practice your guitar lessons for the day, then you may think about a different option.

The Single verses Multiple Guitar Lesson Instructors

Each guitar lesson instructor will have a different style, background, experience, ideas, and approach in which they feel their guitar prowess should be transferred to their students. There are some guitar courses in which the same instructor teaches all of the lessons. There are also courses in which each lesson or genre is actually taught to the students by different instructors. Both of these teaching styles can be beneficial depending upon your current level of guitar playing.

The benefit to having one person teach you guitar lessons, allows you to have consistency in your learning. Getting used to only one instructor’s style and approach in the beginning, may present for quicker learning, and more consistent results. If you are just beginning your guitar learning experience finding a single instructor guitar course is most likely the best approach.

Although if you already have some guitar playing experience and are looking to advance your skill level and learn several new genres and styles, then maybe having multiple instructors may be more beneficial. The multiple instructor approach allows you study many different styles giving you a larger variety of playing options to choose from. If you’re searching for ways to expand beyond your beginning skills to an intermediate or even advanced level, then you may consider the multiple instructor approach to guitar lesson instruction.

When teaching yourself to play the guitar and are searching for a guitar instruction course 1) consider your personal learning style, 2) the medium in which the course material is presented and 3) the benefits of having one verses multiple instructors. Remember when learning something new, consistency and persistence are major keys to reaching your guitar playing goals.

At Go to GuitarsandGuitarLessons.com, you can find more easy to read information regarding guitar lesson and guitar course summaries. You’ll also find some awesome prices on the most popular brands of acoustic and electric guitars. Just a few of the name brands you’ll notice are Fender, Gibson, Ibanez, Yamaha, B.C. Rich, Dean, Epiphone, Peavey as well as many, many others.

Choosing which beginner guitar lessons are the right ones for you can appear to be like dancing out onto an uncharted minefield!

If you are like most people wanting to take up a course of beginner guitar lessons then you probably will have little or no idea where to start.

The problem is, yes you know where you want to finish up. There is absolutely no doubt about that. Perhaps your vision is just to play electric guitar for your own enjoyment in your own home. It may be to strum some country & western at your local club or school, or just maybe, you can see yourself on the wider stage!

Every journey starts with that first step and it is a step you have to take if you are to succeed in your ambition. The best place to commence is for sure at the begining and that is with some beginner guitar lessons. There may be some frustration along the way as you commence on the journey to play your guitar, however the pleasures you will harvest from staying in there, practicing and learning how to play guitar through to your success will be your dream come true.

In your course you should have a suitably structured journey that takes you to that place you want to go. You need to have a system that inspires you, engrosses you and really makes it a fun journey as you learn.

Your journey to learn and master guitar should begin at your beginning, it must commence from where you are ready to start. From a position of complete beginner or from the position of an improver what really matters is that you feel comfortable with it.

But what really makes up a good course of beginner guitar lessons? There are many courses of beginner guitar lessons to be had today and they are at all prices and quality. To achieve the outcome of truly learning and mastering your new guitar, of staying engrossed in the course from the very start and onwards to your success requires a variety of components that you can change to and from as the whim takes you, but which together form part of a properly organised course.

At the heart of any top quality course of beginner guitar lessons will be a collection of professionally produced video tracks. It is important that the instructor hosting the video series within the course is not only an excellent guitar player himself but that he is able to communicate his skills and teachings in an agreeable and absorbing manner. These lessons will be central to your beginner guitar lessons. They have to be backed up with in depth printed matter, fully detailing the exercises shown on video and any songs and tabs featured, so that you can continue to practice at your leisure.

Actually playing the guitar will be the most rewarding way to learn to play it. Practice will be enriched no end if a good and varied set of jam-along CDs are included for you to get the feel of playing your guitar along with a professional group. You will be amazed how much fun this can make your practice sessions

It is a big advantage if included within the course is a student support system. To have an access route to your teacher and your fellow students for stimulation and support can be the dividing factor between success and frustration. To have access and interaction with fellow students through your support system where each can help each other can add enormously to the experience . It offers a place to go when you are alone with your beginner guitar lessons, where you can interact and in truth be not alone but be among your class of fellow students and you will draw massive strength from them.

So how much will you have to pay to get into a course like this? It wouldn’t be realistic to think that you could get all this for nothing. For sure its value will be remembered long after the price is forgotten You can of course buy a rudimentary package of beginner guitar lessons very cheaply. However, the depth and quality of your course will in the end dictate the price you pay. In the final analysis it it depends on what value you want to put on your own guitar playing experience and how far you want to take it. If you are determined to make the most of whatever course you choose you will be spending a good deal of time in there with it. It is without doubt the quality and the depth of your course you invest in that will keep you involved within it and making the most of the experience such that you go on to attain the goals you have set yourself to play guitar.

We are talking about an investment in yourself which can and will, if you stay with it, provide you with a lifetime of pleasure. The value for money to be enjoyed in a course such as this goes way beyond the price that you pay and to be fair that price will probably be less than you might have thought. Added to that when purchased from a well known and respected company your beginner guitar lessons will be backed up by a no quibble return policy. This gives you the opportunity to buy your course with absolutely no risk.

There is one course of beginner guitar lessons that comes very highly thought of from a company whose motto is “we have finished when you have reached your dream” and which stands out above all others. That course caters for not only beginner guitar lessons but is equally aimed at the higher level guitar player. It is produced by Legacy Learning Systems. Marketed as their Learn & Master Guitar Course it is truly an all encompassing system. Contained within this comprehensive course of beginner guitar lessons is everything you could need to take you from wherever you are in your guitar journey to wherever you want to go. It has been constructed to make your learning experience your pleasure and to help you to reach your own success. Check it out for yourself, you have nothing to lose but you have everything to gain. Your beginner guitar lessons could lead you through an intermediate level of skill and on to the delight of playing your guitar at an advanced level of competence with a good deal of fun and satisfaction along the

So you’ve fulfilled all the basic steps towards learning how to play guitar. You’ve purchased a guitar, you found the ideal room to practice in, you have the energy you need as well as the enthusiasm and desire to become an expert, but still something’s missing. A few weeks passed since you’ve last played. Since then your guitar has been sitting in the corner untouched. You now feel that playing the guitar just isn’t for you. What made you change your mind?

Most likely you didn’t remain focused and on the right path. You must realize that getting through the initial guitar lessons is the most difficult phase. But it does get better. The more you practice and keep practicing, the easier it gets. Don’t worry! A lot of beginners get hung up at first.

I strongly believe you will never learn guitar lessons on your own. Before you can learn you’ll need assistance from an expert. Without training you’ll do nothing more than just “mess around”. Even if you figure out how to play part of a riff, you’ll accomplish nothing more than that. It’s not until you become absolutely serious about working your way towards becoming a skilled guitarist. The same holds true with learning any kind of instrument.

Beginner guitar lessons will help keep you motivated and ensure that you develop skills at a steady rate, one that challenges you and that is reasonable. It all depends on which type of training course is best for you. There are so many types of courses, how do you know which one is the best? Most likely, multiple programs will work for you. All you need to know is how to separate the good from the bad.

For most beginners, when considering guitar playing lessons, the first thing that comes to mind is private lessons. Personally, I wouldn’t recommend this and I’ll tell you three reasons why:

1. Private lessons are very expensive. On average we’re talking $16 for a 30 minute lesson at 2 lessons per week. This works out at $150 a month or more.

2. Private lessons have a biased instructor. You’re better off with a source that guides you step-by-step through all the lessons without steering you into a genre or method based on his/her personal tastes. Learning from a human has other flaws. If the instructor should be in a bad mood or just lack motivation one day, you will still be charged for that session and not learn as much.

3. Personal lessons may teach multiple students. If this is the case, the more students taught at once, the harder it will be to get the one-on-one attention you need. Sometimes, a period of 30 minutes isn’t long enough to answer all the students’ questions or give them individual help as needed.

Home study courses and beginner guitar lessons online are fantastic since they allow you to learn at your own pace. They are far cheaper than taking private lessons ($150 per month and up), but are about the same quality as receiving training from a personal instructor. What you get out of these courses depends on what you put into them.

Learn and Master Guitar is one of my favorite ways to learn guitar lessons and I strongly recommend it to any beginner. Not only does it provide plenty of lessons but it also teaches information, proper techniques, and cool tricks all guitarists need to learn. What makes the course fantastic is that it comes with a CD and DVD that correspond with its book. Best of all, it only charges a fee of $119 ONCE! Now that’s less than what the lead guitarist in my old band was paying per month ($150 or more) and the lessons through Learn and Master Guitar take 6 months to complete. Finally, it’s basically a course just like that offered by a private instructor or class.

Another site that’s hard to beat for low cost is Jamorama. What makes them stand out is that they offer 24 beginning guitar lessons for free. I’ve search several other sites and could not find one for much cheaper.

When searching for guitar lessons for beginners online you must look for the following:

- Reputable author
- Lessons start out easy then gradually become more difficult
- A wide variety of lessons and skill levels
- Allow you to play songs you like and know well
- It’s easy to follow and makes good sense
- Provides bottom written music and guitar tabs
- Teaches exercises, chords, scales, and advanced techniques

Though there may be a lot of beginner guitar lessons online, very few of them are strong and reputable. I’ve tried many of them myself, only to find that they weren’t even worth the money.

So if you’re serious about learning guitar courses online and don’t want to waste time and money, I suggest that you try either Jamorama or Learn and Master Guitar.

Liam Gibson of LearnGuitar-User-Reviews.com, specializes in helping aspiring guitarists get the info that they need to make the right choices. Liam, a stage guitarist himself, leads his team of guitar experts to constantly review new courses and products in the market and make sure you get the best value products that work for you.

How many times have you taken your guitar out of the closet, dusted off those old books you bought years ago at the local music store and found a quiet corner in a room to start to learn to play guitar only to get totally distracted by other responsibilities which caused you to leave the guitar sitting in that same corner for months or years? Now, each time you walk by the guitar sitting there in the corner, you remember you should get back to the books and the practicing, but somehow the time never presents itself.

Guitar lessons software has some significant differences versus online guitar lessons. This can be valuable to understand for the guitar student who is looking for effective guitar learning tools, but does not know what some of the differences may be between these very different learning modalities. Guitar lessons software is a computer program that you load onto your computer at home. Online guitar lessons are an internet interface that you do not load onto your computer, but access via your internet connection. This may seem like a non-important concept until you learn about how they are different and how your learning and ability to accomplish more on your guitar can be by affected by these different forms of guitar lessons.

Online guitar lessons are only available by logging in to a system with a per session charge or by maintaining a subscription fee. This means that you never always have unlimited access to your lessons once paid for. Either the one time fee needs to be paid again to retake a lesson, or you only have access as long as you maintain the subscription. Years later how much to you have to pay to retake certain lessons; Are they always still going to be available? Your internet service must be working properly and the particular service that you are accessing needs to be functioning properly. With many companies disappearing in today’s business world, you have no guarantees that you can have access to all of the content.

Guitar software on the other hand, that you load onto your computer and run on your computer, is always accessible without any internet access, and you have it on your computer to use the lessons for years, as opposed to being on a server elsewhere. You only pay one time, and can restudy the material as often as necessary. Retaking a lesson over, and over again, and referring back to the same lesson content at much later times, is essential to mastering the material.

Online guitar lessons also are often a smorgasbord of various ideas and concepts from various teachers. This provides no continuity of learning and leaves the guitar student with lots of neat ideas that are independent and various. This reflects in the students limited playing ability as it become obvious the student has no real understanding of the instrument other than in a fragmented way. High quality guitar software on the other hand offers a fully cohesive instruction system. This is important to your consistency of practice and learning and is necessary to ever to reach any higher level of guitar knowledge and playing skill.Online guitar lessons also do not have the technology of training and teaching tools that a high end guitar software program offers. It simply isn’t available.

Increasing your guitar playing ability in a manner where you gain results in this lifetime, in a shorter period of time, than in many, many years is important to many guitar students. Any tool or idea available can be helpful. But you don’t want helpful, you want progress. You don’t need a few more ideas, your need real skills and understanding. So as you evaluate various learning systems such as guitar lessons software versus online guitar lessons, you can make more productive decisions for your personal learning choices as you are flooded with a tremendous amount of options for guitar learning.
